Pre School Music Class
- 8 engaging classes designed for children 3 to 5 years old.
- Introduces the fundamental concepts of music providing students, fun, hands-on interaction with various instruments.
- Exposure to foundational music education at a young age.
Class limit: 8 Students
Classes: Mondays from 2-2:45pm.
Dates: March 18 through May 13.
Recital: May 18.
Work with an audio engineer to professionally record a cover or an original composition. Choose to record an instrumental piece, vocals or even a larger production if you are part of a band. You also have the option to work hands-on with the audio engineer to learn how to edit, mix and master your audio recording.
The Piano Cottage Rocks 2024
June 21st and 22nd
The Piano Cottage Rocks is an annual concert where students 18 and under can participate. The primary goal of this event is to give live stage experience to our students.
Students receive professional training in all aspects of performing before a live audience. This includes: Musicianship, technical skills, stage presence, choreography, and collaboration with a live band.
The Piano Cottage Rocks holds 3 shows over the course of 2 days. The same performance is given both days, and they are typically split into ACT I and ACT II.
The venue for the concert this year will be the East Grand Rapids Performing Arts Center (2211 Lake Dr SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49506, United States).
Student Bands
We have several student bands with varying experience levels. This program is designed for students looking to compose, record, produce, and perform their own original music as well as their arrangements of other popular tunes.
Student bands have had great success performing on WoodTV and venues such as the DeVos Performance Hall, Frederick Meijer Gardens, Wealthy Theatre, and private venues.
Requirements: Interested individuals must be enrolled in private lessons with TPC to participate in the Band Program.
The Cottage Chorus!
The Cottage Chorus provides a unique experience for aspiring singers seeking experience in harmonization and choreography. Students ranging from 8–15 years will study inspiring contemporary and classical choral arrangements, and learn techniques to improve their vocal abilities.
Some of our students choose to continue their journey as a solo vocalist, using the skills they have built to pursue a solo path. No former training is necessary.
